Digital Competence Programme - DigKom@OHM

Then join us! Our university qualification programme for digital competence, DigKom@OHM, is right for you.

DigKom@OHM is a structured qualification programme in digital competence designed for all students at the Nuremberg Institute of Technology. Participation in the programme is free of charge.

What digital skills are needed in the future of work?

"Digital competence can be defined as the confident, critical, and creative use of ICT (information and communications technology) to achieve goals related to work, employability, learning, leisure, inclusion, and/or participation in society. Digital competence is a transversal key competence which enables us to acquire other key competences“. (Joint Research Centre of the European Commission)

How does the programme work?

  1. Choose four (4) workshops and/or lectures from modules 1 and 2 of the programme and complete them within one or two semesters.
  2. Take an Online Self-assessment Test to evaluate your level of digital competence.
  3. Register for the final workshop and awards event by email (send to thuvan.lethi@th-nuernberg.de).

Modules in the DigKom@OHM programme

Module 1 covers current topics and trends from various fields of digital competence. In order to complete the programme, at least one workshop or lecture from this module must be successfully completed.

(*) After each workshop you will receive a confirmation of participation.

(**) The successful completion of a lecture is documented in the transcript of records. In accord with the respective study and examination regulations (SPO) for your degree programme, the lecture may be recognized as an elective (AWPF) with 2 ECTS.

Module 2 includes workshops and lectures that strengthen your independent learning skills in the digital age and to gain an insight into the digital mindset. In addition, Module 2 offers the opportunity to develop your digital skills within practical application projects, for example, using digital tools to develop sustainable solutions.

In order to complete the programme, at least one workshop or lecture from Module 2 must be completed.

The programme offers you the opportunity to assess your competence level using our Online Self-assessment Tests.

In the final workshop, students present the knowledge they have acquired and the learning outcomes from Modules 1 and 2. Together with the center for teaching and learning, students consider the results of their Online Self-assessment Test and develop an approach to improve their digital skills in the future.
