Rocket Science and Production LIVE – IBT students visit LEISTRITZ AG in Nuremberg

As part of the “Operations Management” lecture by Prof. Dr. Christoph Tripp in the Bachelor International Business & Technology, students learn about the essential internal and external core processes of production and service companies.

Following last week's guest lecture by the consulting firm LOGSOL, Prof. Tripp and his course accepted an invitation from LEISTRITZ AG in Nuremberg in the first week of December. The family-run company generates consolidated sales of more than € 415 million per year in four business units with around 1,900 employees at 13 global locations, which - contrary to the general market trend - has increased continuously. The LEISTRITZ GROUP consists of four business units: Turbine Technology with components for aircraft and rocket engines, Pump Technology with pump systems, Extrusion Technology with extruders and extrusion systems and finally, Production Technology with tooling, machine tools, and pipe technology.

Michael Everts, CEO of LEISTRITZ AG, welcomed the group of 50 students led by Prof. Christoph Tripp. He began by presenting the company, the individual business divisions and the main products and services. Mr. Everts emphasized several times how important a high innovation dynamic and an innovation-friendly and open corporate culture are for the company's competitiveness. After that fantastic introduction, all participants visited various production areas as part of an extensive tour of the company. In the concluding Q&A session, the students had the opportunity to ask about any unresolved issues. Finally, LEISTRITZ once again presented various options for starting a career during and after their studies.

Summary: IBT students are very welcome! Thank you, Nora Böttcher & LEISTRITZ AG, for that fantastic study trip to a real Hidden German Champion!
