Delegation aus Taiwan zu Gast an der Fakultät Werkstofftechnik

Am 8. und 9. Juli besuchte eine Delegation der National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) aus Taiwan die Ohm. Die Gruppe bestand aus 14 Studierenden und sieben Professorinnen und Professoren des Department of Materials and Optoelectronic Science und war zu Gast an der Fakultät Werkstofftechnik.

Zum Auftakt des Besuchs begleiteten Prof. Dr. Hintz und Prof. Dr. Sven Wiltzsch die Gäste zur Siemens Healthineers AG nach Forchheim. Dort erhielten die Gäste Einblicke in die Fertigung medizinischer Computertomografen.

Am Nachmittag begrüßten Vizepräsident Prof. Dr. Frank Pöhlau, Vizepräsidentin Prof. Dr. Areti Papastavrou und Dekan Prof. Dr. Bastian Raab die Delegation an der Ohm. Prof. Dr. Barbara Hintz und Dr. Dominik Eitel informierten über aktuelle Forschungsarbeiten. Ein Rundgang durch die Labore der Fakultät Werkstofftechnik rundete das Programm ab. Den Tag ließ die deutsch-taiwanesische Gruppe bei einem Abendessen mit fränkischen Spezialitäten in der Nürnberger Altstadt ausklingen.

Am zweiten Tag hörten die Gäste Fachvorträgen aus den Fakultäten Elektrotechnik Feinwerktechnik Informationstechnik (efi) sowie Verfahrenstechnik (VT) und besichtigten verschiedene Labore der Fakultäten efi, VT und Angewandte Chemie. Am Nachmittag stand ein Besuch der Labore bei MAN auf dem Programm. Prof. Dr. Uta Helbig, Dr. Jens Helbig und Prof. Dr. Sven Wiltzsch begleiteten die Delegation.

Der Besuch soll die Kontakte zwischen beiden Hochschulen vertiefen. Für das Wintersemester 2026/27 ist ein Aufenthalt von drei Studierenden der Fakultät Werkstofftechnik an der National Sun Yat-sen University geplant. Auch die taiwanesischen Gäste signalisierten großes Interesse an einem intensiveren Austausch.

On 8-9 July a delegation from the National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) in Taiwan visited the Ohm. The Faculty of Materials Engineering hosted the group, comprising 14 students and seven professors from the Department of Materials and Optoelectronic Science.

To kick-off the visit, Prof. Hintz and Prof. Sven Wiltzsch accompanied the guests to Siemens Healthineers AG in Forchheim. On site, the guests were shown how medical CT scanners are produced.

In the afternoon, Vice President Frank Pöhlau, Vice President Areti Papastavrou, and Dean Bastian Raab welcomed the delegation on the Ohm campus. Prof. Barbara Hintz and Dr Dominik Eitel presented current research projects. The last point on the programme for the first day was a tour of the Faculty of Materials Engineering’s laboratories. Dinner featuring Franconian specialities in Nuremberg’s Old Town rounded off the day for the German-Taiwanese group.

The second day continued at the Ohm, where the guests heard presentations from the Faculties of Electrical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Information Technology (efi) and Process Engineering (VT), followed by visits to laboratories in the efi and VT Faculties as well as in the Faculty of Applied Chemistry. The afternoon featured a visit to the laboratories at MAN. Prof. Uta Helbig, Dr Jens Helbig, and Prof. Sven Wiltzsch accompanied the delegation to MAN.

The visit was intended to foster closer ties between the two universities. Three students from the Faculty of Materials Engineering are scheduled to visit the National Sun Yat-sen University in winter semester 2026/27. The Taiwanese guests also showed great interest in closer collaboration and academic exchange with the Ohm.
