A foundation in organic agriculture and food management with the circular economy approach is an ideal starting point for studying sustainable business administration and business management.

The Management in Organic and Sustainability Business degree programme is based at the university’s Neumarkt location. The town of Neumarkt and the regional economy support the degree programme, and there are many links to companies and initiatives in the region, with Neumarkter Lammsbräu and Bionorica among our sponsors. The metropolitan region of Nuremberg as an organic city and the eco-model regions of Neumarkt as well as the districts of Nürnberger Land and Roth form an ideal location for the Management in Organic and Sustainability Business degree programme. We are very pleased that the regional economy and the town of Neumarkt are actively supporting us and working with us to make a success of the degree programme.

Special features

The Management in Organic and Sustainability Business bachelor’s degree programme offers interdisciplinary management training providing sustainability-oriented qualifications and competencies in business administration, natural sciences and technology for specialist and leadership tasks in the management of companies. This kind of dual and multiple qualification in the management of production, sales and services in the sector for ecologically and sustainably oriented companies is, and will continue to be, very much in demand if we are to be able to contribute competently to the challenges of our sustainability goals in the economy. No other degree programme offers these unique features to prospective business management graduates in this form.

Professors and lecturers bring a wide range of experience and networks from practice and industry to the degree programme. This enables students to benefit from the networks in the region and in corporate practice in the organic sector and beyond. The programme’s interdisciplinary and strongly sustainability-oriented profile means that students’ competences are also increasingly in demand beyond the organic sector.

Small groups and the limited number of students per semester mean that students can interact closely with each other and with their lecturers. Seminar-based lessons, case studies, internships and project work provide a practical and application-oriented framework for teaching. Lecturers and professors from different faculties with extensive professional experience ensure a broad, interdisciplinary range of courses combined with in-depth training.
