“Städtische polytechnische Schule” (Municipal Polytechnical School), “Industrieschule” (Industrial School), “Ohm Polytechnikum” (Ohm Polytechnic, Nuremberg), “Fachhochschule” (University of Applied Sciences) – over the years, these names and others have designated the institution now called the Technische Hochschule Nürnberg Georg Simon Ohm. Its goal, however, has not changed: practically oriented education, first for technical professions and later also for business, social services, or architecture. In 2023 the university celebrated its 200 year anniversary. The changeful history of the university and the stories surrounding it are told in this book.
