Many students are dependent on additional financial support despite BAföG and/or a scholarship. Temporary financial difficulties can be overcome with a student loan. Most major banks offer loans specially tailored to students. In any case, it is advisable to compare the individual offers. In the following you will find examples of proven offers.

• The student loan from the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) offers a proven model for funding studies.
   
• Deutsche Bildung AG offers individually tailored financing models.
   
• The Festo Education Fund offers a tried and tested model of individually designed study funding – also for part-time courses of study.
   
• It is also possible to apply for an education loan from the Federal Office of Administration.

A special form of student loan is the “ Studienabschlussbarlehen” (graduation loan) from the Studentenwerke (student services) to make it easier for students to prepare for exams and to enable them to successfully complete their studies.
