As a central unit at the university, the Outreach and Research Infrastructure Services (SOFI) was established to support and strengthen knowledge, technology, and innovation transfer at the Ohm. This includes implementing the Hightech Agenda, measures associated with the Ohm’s university objectives agreement with the Bavarian State Ministry for Science and the Arts, and a range of actions derived from the university’s transfer strategy. SOFI’s work focuses on exchange and collaboration with industry, the cultural sector, non-profit organisations, policymakers, academia, and society at large.

Outreach and Research Infrastructure Services (SOFI) include:

• Project platform for publicly funded programmes in collaboration with the Faculties and institutes
• Transfer counseling and services
• Science communication, video and media production
• Event management, planning, and implementation
• Organising academic conferences
• Evaluations and studies

SOFI supports the university’s transfer activities and assists researchers in organising events and developing collaborative partnerships. The team has extensive experience with a wide range of formats – from creative workshops and hackathons to science slams and specialist conferences.

SOFI is located in the Ohm Innovation Center.
