Nuremberg Institute of Technology, or Nuremberg Tech for short, is one of Germany’s largest universities, with over 13,000 students (statistics).

The university is a corporation under public law with the right to self-govern within the framework of legislation, while also being a State institution.

In accordance with Article 2 of the Bavarian State Universities Act, the universities for applied sciences provide application-based teaching in order to deliver education that enables students to apply scientific methods and use creative activities independently in professional practice. Within the scope of the existing infrastructure, universities of applied sciences are able to undertake application-oriented research and development projects, if predominantly third-party funding is available.
