Information on admission

To be able to study in the master’s degree programme in Circular Economy and Resilient Food Systems – CERES at the Ohm, you must meet the following requirements:

bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Business Administration at the Technischen Hochschule Nürnberg Georg Simon Ohm with a final grade point average of at least 2.5 and 210 credits (ECTS) (7 semesters incl. practical semester)
or
a completed university degree comprising at least 210 ECTS credits and a final grade point average of at least 2.5 or an equivalent German or foreign degree obtained through university studies also with a final grade point average of at least 2.5 in the fields of agricultural sciences, business administration, bio-economics, food science, geography, life sciences, sustainable resource management, social data science, social economics, environmental studies, economics, industrial engineering, economic psychology, or related disciplines. 

If German is not your native language:

German language examination for the university admission of foreign applicants (DSH-Stufe 2)or
TestDaF (‘Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache’ with an above-average score (minimally level 4 in all four examination components)or
Documentation of a completed educational course in German at a secondary school.

Documentation of English proficiency:

In addition, evidence of English language proficiency at level B2 (reading comprehension) of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is required, unless English was the language of instruction of the relevant first degree or the candidate’s university entrance qualification (HZB). B2 level is documented as achieved, if the ‘Abitur’ or ‘Fachhochschulereife’ record at least the grade ‘ausreichend’. The following certificates, in particular, are accepted as documentation of language proficiency:

a) Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE),
b) International English Language Testing System (IELTS),
c) Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE),
d) Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Internet-based Test (iBT) or
e) Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC).
