You’re interested in studying at the Ohm, but don’t meet the admission requirements? Or you are interested in specifically preparing for studying at a German university? This site presents various pathways you may follow to acquire the right language or other academic qualifications you need to study at the Ohm.

The Ohm’s pathway programme

You still have some German to learn before you meet the admission requirements? And you are interested in academic preparation, too? Our pathway programme focuses on German, math, and the natural sciences to prepare participants optimally for STEM programmes at the Ohm. It combines intensive German courses with lectures in mathematics, physics, and chemistry.

German language courses

If you have B1 (per CEFR) German proficiency and want to focus on learning the language at a level suitable for university, our DSH Preparatory Courses are excellent. DSH is the abbreviation for “Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang” (German Language Examination for University Admission). The courses prepare participants to sit the exam and will equip you with language skills you will need as a student.

“Studienkolleg”

If you have good German proficiency, but your academic credentials do not meet the requirements to be recognised as a university entrance qualification at the Ohm, you may be able to visit a “Studienkolleg”.

The “Studienkolleg” foundation college that you will need to attend if you want to study at the Ohm is “Studienkolleg” Coburg. To apply/register for a place at the Studienkolleg Coburg, you will need a confirmation from us. You can request this confirmation from Roxana Schwab by email at roxana.schwab@th-nuernberg.de.
