Xamk is arranging the Xamk Summer School of Gaming (3 ECTS) on 4 – 10 August, 2025. We are delighted to invite your students to spend a week in the beautiful city of Mikkeli!

 

The summer school will focus on Essentials of Video Game Creation (3 ECTS) and will teach you how to create a video game by studying concept design and development. You will learn in practice how to develop a basic game concept, from an idea to a pitch, without needing to have a background of previous gaming studies.

 

The classes will be held by gaming industry professionals:

• Dr. Jan Storgårds: with over 25 years of experience in the gaming industry, he is entrepreneur, Director of CADGI (Cambridge Academy of Games and Innovation) and CEO of Cambridge Gamechanger ltd. He has also experience working with start-ups and early-stage technology companies including video games studios.

• James Shepherd: CEO Cypherdelic Limited and Head of Studio at nDreams, who just recently published Ghostbusters VR. Double Bafta and Develop winning executive responsible for delivering multi-million selling products. He has been working for both Microsoft (creating the Xbox games community 'Upload' and the app 'Upload Studio') and Sony (delivering triple 'A' products including ‘Heavenly Sword’and ‘LittleBigPlanet’.

The Nord Summer School will take place from June 30 to July 4 at campus Bodø.

Bodø is situated approximately 90 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle and is home to Saltstraumen, the world's strongest maelstrom.

From June 30 to July 18, 2025, the ULPGC organizes a Summer School, an intensive Spanish learning program, accompanied by fun and interesting cultural and recreational activities. What is the Summer University?

Within four weeks, the Summer University provides students with a

comprehensive insight into the regional and cultural aspects of today's China. Lectures, seminars and workshops on China-specific conditions and developments in the fields of society, economics and law form the core of the Summer University.

China: Shanghai CDHAW Summer School 2025 | Application deadline: 23 May 2025

The CDHAW Summer School aims to offer students a comprehensive insight into China, especially Shanghai, and into the country’s culture, language, and economy. The programme includes cultural and language lessons and numerous cultural activities, such as traditional Chinese handicrafts, excursions to other cities, villages, and natural areas, and artistic performances and exhibitions.

 

The CDHAW Summer School offers a unique, first-hand opportunity to get to know Tongji University and China as a potential destination for studying abroad and to reduce potential obstacles.

 

• All students enrolled at DHIK member universities (www.dhik.org) are eligible to participate in the Summer School.

• Up to 3 CREDITS (ECTS) may be earned by students in undergraduate programmes under the academic direction of Prof. Frank Pöhlau (the Ohm) and Prof. Martin Renner (MUAS).

• The participation fee of 385 euros, inclusive of a social programme, is very reasonably priced.

• The application deadline for the Summer School ends on 23 May 2025. The Summer School will begin on 8 September in Shanghai.

• The CDHAW offers double degree programmes in the fields of Industrial Engineering (“Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen” - WI), Vehicle Technology (FT), Mechatronics (MT) und Building Services Engineering (GT). As of this year, it is also possible for related degree programmes to take part in exchange at the CDHAW, e.g., Business Administration (BWL) in the WI programme. Korea: Konkuk University International Summer School 2025 | Application deadline: 31 May 2025

The International Summer School (ISS) at Konkuk University (KU) is a four-week long program summer school that provides a great opportunity for international students to learn about the history, language and culture of Korea. The program is recommended to all students who wish to gain an in-depth understanding of Korea and enjoy their summer to the fullest while experiencing unique extracurricular programs and field trips. Join our program to broaden your perspective and make your summer unforgettable with peers around the world.

 

All Courses are taught in English. Each session is 3 credits.

 

• International Business

• K-Psychology: View of Koreans and Korean Culture

• Exploring the vibrant world of K-Art (and K-pop)

• Korean Language (beginner)

• Korean Language (intermediate)

• Understanding Korean Society through Music

• South Korean Politics and Foreign Policy

 

All courses are conducted in English and the following academic credits may be transferred to your home institution. Students will earn up to 6 credits after successful completion of two of the ISP sessions.

The total amount of class time for each course which includes in-class lectures, discussions, self-study and assignments is up to 48 hours. Academic performance of a student will be assessed at the end of the program, and a certificate of completion will be issued as requested. Students will be informed of the finalized course schedule by email prior to their arrival.

Summer Session 1: 3 July, Thursday ~ 29 July, Tuesday, 2025 (27 days)

Summer Session 2: 7 August, Thursday ~ 19 August, Tuesday, 2025 (13 days)

Ajou University is a leading research university in South Korea established in 1973, located in the greater Seoul area. We have 13,700 domestic students and 1,400 international students from 67 countries. The university consists of 12 colleges with leading programs in fields such as artificial intelligence, future automobiles, molecular science and technology, energy systems, a medical center, and a law school.

 

Our beautiful tree-lined campus offers study and relaxation areas, gyms and sporting facilities, outdoor parks and al fresco cafes along with individual and group study and collaboration rooms, modern high-tech facilities, and even an advanced semiconductor cleanroom.

 

The campus is surrounded by a vibrant college neighborhood on one side along with a mountain with lovely hiking trails quickly leading to a majestic lake park on the other. Students may also take the driverless, fully automated Seoul Metro Line from Ajou University Station to Gangnam in a 34-minute journey.

 

Participants in 2024 AISS will join the programs provided by Ajou University as outlined below.

Cape Town is the country's oldest city and the seat of the Parliament of South Africa.

Although it is the second largest city of South Africa, after Johannesburg, it is known for its harbour and its natural setting.

This is why Cape Town was named the best place in the world to visit by the New York Times.

We charge a participation fee of approx. 1,000 €.

The accommodation is located within walking distance of the campus in a student hall of residence.
