Enrolling in open-admission bachelor’s programmes (“zulassungsfrei”)

as a first-semester student at the Ohm.

Note: This process is for applicants with an Abitur from the German educational system. Further information for applicants with foreign academic credentials

Register in the StudyOhm portal. In order to do this, you will need a valid email address to which all future information concerning your application will be sent. Activate your personal account using the login details that have been sent to you by email.

Note: Please create only one account – you can use this single registration to apply for all degree programmes within the deadlines.

If you are already enrolled at the Ohm, you do not need to register again. You can use your university login (StudyOhm login).

Next you can begin the process in StudyOhm of enrolling in your degree programme. In order to do so, you must first log in to StudyOhm using the login details that you received when you registered.

Click the “Add a request” button to select the degree programme you want to enrol in and submit your request (your application). The status of this request should now be “received”. After you have been admitted (your status will be either “Admitted” or “Offer of admission available”), you will find your admission letter in the Inbox of your StudyOhm account.

The admission letter contains all of the essential information you need to enrol. Please download the letter, read it, and take note of what you need to do to complete your binding enrolment. Briefly summarised, the steps will include:

Online enrolment including uploading documents

Complete each page in the online enrolment process. You must upload all of the requested documents for your desired degree programme before you can submit your request for enrolment. Please have the required documents prepared in a digital format and in good quality (e.g., as a PDF) and upload them. You can interrupt the process and continue uploading documents at a later time. The required documents will include:

  • A CV presented in chronological order and without any gaps, formatted as a table
  • University entrance qualification (HZB):
Depending on which university entrance qualification you are applying with, you will need to send us the final official transcript for the general university entrance qualification or the university of applied sciences entrance qualification or the master’s examination or the professional development examination (e.g. business administrator certificate) or the completed apprenticeship, together with the final official transcript from the vocational college and evidence of the three years spent in full-time employment. Information regarding the various types of university entrance qualification can be found under admission requirements.

Please note and be sure to adhere to the enrolment deadline that is stated in your letter of admission. You must have uploaded all requested documents and submit your enrolment request by that date. The Student Office will only review your documents after the status of your application is “Enrollment requested”.

If anything is missing, information about what and by what deadline you must submit it will be available directly in StudyOhm. So, it is important that you regularly log in to StudyOhm, even after you request enrolment, to see if you have been enrolled or if additional documents have been requested. You must submit any missing documents by uploading them in the “Documents” section in StudyOhm.

Following the timely receipt of your documents and once they have been checked, you will be enrolled at the university and will receive your login information for the university’s IT systems. The login information will be available on the home page of your StudyOhm applicant account a few days after you have been enrolled.
After logging in using your new account information, you can find your confirmation of enrolment in StudyOhm in the “Studies organisation” section.

After you receive your login, you must upload a profile photo in the VirtuOhm system at the latest 3 weeks before the semester starts so that your student ID card (OHMcard) can be produced. You will receive your OHMcard during the first week of the semester from your Faculty.
