FOOD costing and internalisation of externalities for system transition

This four-year EU project began in 2022 and runs until the end of 2026. Prof. Gaugler’s group is involved primarily in the development of a harmonised method for True Cost Accounting and in implementing numerous case studies. In the case studies, knowledge is generated and tested by quantifying the externalities in fisheries, communicating externalities by using labels, and sustainable development of the catering industry through True Cost Accounting. In addition, the project group collaborates with the HoMaBiLe project (link to homabile.de) based at the University of Greifswald.

The campaign is a collaborative project between the PENNY/Rewe company, the HoMaBiLe research project of the University of Greifswald, and the FOODCoST project in which the Ohm is also involved.
