Costs and charges

There are no fees for using the library or for the issuance of library cards. Costs are incurred for:

Copies on the photocopiers

Payment accepted from the Ohmcard (or Mensakarte).

Copies through the interlibrary loans system

Interlibrary loans for books within Germany are free of charge at the Ohm. If the original cannot be loaned out, photocopies can be ordered for a fee.

For a photocopy of an article a nominal fee of 2.00 euros is charged. In exceptional cases, higher fees may also be charged.

Replacement costs, fees, and fines

Replacement of a lost Ohmcard:  10.00 € (issued at Central IT)
Replacement of a lost interlibrary data carrier: 1.50 €
Replacement of lost or damaged media Valuation by the library
Replacement of a lost locker key: 15.00 €

Requests to return books/media

First request to return books/media:     7.50 €
Second request to return books/media:   10.00 €
Third request to return books/media:     20.00 € + expenses

All other measures will also be subject to charges.

Payment of charges

Most charges can be paid at one of the OHM service terminals using your Ohmcard/ Mensakarte. If you need bank account information in order to pay by bank transfer, please email the library at bibliothek[at]th-nuernberg.de.

Payment cannot be made using your Ohmcard/Mensakarte for:

• Charges for the third request to return books, including the charges that have been incurred up to this point for the first and second request(s)
• Invoices for compensation for lost or damaged media

In these cases, a remittance slip will be handed out or sent by the library.
