Career Service

The Career Service is a service organisation for students, graduates, businesses, and young alumni of the Ohm. We support you with your profiling and prepare you for your entry into the workplace. We also act as a bridge-builder between you and companies or organisations in the economic and social sectors.

Discrimination and sexual harassment

As a university member, you can contact the central contact for issues related to discrimination or sexual harassment , if you have experienced or observed another person who experienced discrimination or sexual harassment on university premises or while performing an activity related to the university (e.g., study groups, home office, etc.).

Dual study options

The Contact for Dual Study Options is your port of call for advice in relation to Dual Studies. You are also welcome to contact this office if you are a company and are interested in offering a dual studies programme or if you are study applicant. We welcome every cooperative partnership that is created, as well as every new place on a dual variant programme.

For individuals with vocational qualifications

The Ohm has the highest proportion of students with vocational qualifications in Bavaria. The Coordinator for Accreditation and Studying with a Vocational Qualification (in German) is there to assist you from choosing your programme up to the successful completion of your degree. 

“Gründungsberatung”

The team at “Gründungsberatung” supports current and former university members in issues around entrepreneurship and starting a business. Through diverse offerings, including, but not limited to, coaching, qualification programmes, partner matching, events, and workshops, advice and support is available throughout the entire process of establishing a new business - from the idea to financing options.

Psychotherapeutic counseling

In cooperation with the Studentenwerk Erlangen-Nuremberg, we offer psychotherapeutic counseling for all students and employees at the Ohm.

People come to the counseling service for many different reasons. Many come because they feel that they are being affected by personal problems or problems with other people, such as having trouble studying or with exams, finding it hard to build relationships, problems with superiors, partners or parents, depression, feelings of despair, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, feelings of guilt, psychosomatic complaints, and many more.

Student Counseling

Our team at International Academic Services (IAS) is here to support and advise international students at the Ohm. You can contact us for topics ranging from applying for a degree programme, looking for an apartment, to difficulties you may face in the classroom or exams.

For students who have a university entrance qualification from the German school system, the Student Counseling Service of at the Ohm offers a wide variety of advisory services. Advice and counseling are geared not only to students but also prospective students. Individual life situations, decision-making processes, and solutions relating to all aspects of study can be defined and developed between student and adviser, in the form of confidential, anonymous, and personal advice and counseling.
