Description

Standards guide people’s actions. Social and political institutions should also meet these normative criteria in modern societies. The question arises, with regards to advancing digital options, whether institutional decisions can be digitally supported or even replaced. This applies even more so in social conflicts and morally-charged situations where people need to make legally-founded decisions rapidly and with limited resources. Can algorithms support public institutions in precisely such conflict situations? This question was investigated in the project using the example of the fraught and complex field of child protection.
