Kubb / “Wikingerschach”

Come play Kubb, also known as ‘Viking chess’, because it is said that the game was played by the Vikings in Sweden.

A classic outdoor game, Kubb combines skill, team spirit, and physical activity - to the delight of many. Games need two teams. The goal is to use throwing sticks to knock over all of the opposing team’s wooden blocks (Kubbs) first and, at the end, hit the king.

Kubb is included in the ‘Sportkiste’ that was introduced by HSFG as part of the university health management (HGM). The ‘Sportkiste’ offers all university members an opportunity to borrow various games and sports equipment for free, promoting physical activity and connections.
