Pro-Noris Prize

The Pro-Noris prize recognises students’ extraordinary commitment to the Nuremberg community.

The Bürgerstiftung Nürnberg awards the prize in cooperation with the Technische Hochschule Nürnberg Georg Simon Ohm to students who make a lasting contribution to the community in Nuremberg through their thesis or other project associated with their coursework. Five thousand euros (5 x 1.000€) of prize money is awarded each year, which may be divided amongst up to 5 winning projects. The selection criteria are not focused on the grades or marks associated with the project, but exceptional contributions to community service and improving the city as a community. The evaluation is focused on the innovative and positive effects on Nuremberg that the student projects produce – on the student’s engagement and the realised idea, not the academic performance.

The selection is carried out by a high-profile jury comprising the Lord Mayor Marcus König, the Ohm’s president, Prof. Niels Oberbeck, Ingrid Hofmann (I.K. Hoffmann GmbH), Amin Ouled (Chair of the Ohm’s Student Parliament), and Theophil Graband (Bürgerstiftung Nürnberg).
