Description

Children with a parent in prison are particularly threatened by social exclusion and therefore restricted in their opportunities for development and participation – they are affected through no fault of their own. Despite the significant numbers involved, their situation in life and need for support have gained very little attention economically, publicly, or politically. Existing offers of help are usually aimed at improving the relation between the child and their imprisoned parent, important areas in the social life of children, such as kindergartens, schools, and extracurricular activities have so far been ignored. In these areas, in particular, there are highly stressful risks of stigmatisation and bullying or cyber-bullying, aspects that have hardly been considered so far. This project will examine these aspects to create an e-learning programme, developed on an empirical basis, for social-pedagogical personnel in public education and childcare facilities so as to raise their awareness of the living situations of affected children and to prepare them for<br/> working with such children.
