Frank Naujoks combines legal expertise with the operational reality of process engineering. As CEO of Decker Verfahrenstechnik GmbH and Spokesperson for the DWA Working Group 2.36, he manages complex liability risks in the physical industry (Environmental Law / IED 2.0).

At the Nuremberg Institute of Technology, he transfers this deep expertise in Regulation & Compliance to the digital realm: His teaching focuses on Media and Data Law as well as the legally secure handling of information (GDPR, EU AI Act, IP Law). He empowers students to act with legal certainty and minimize risks in highly regulated environments—whether in a chemical plant or a Data Science project.

Teaching & Research Areas:

  • Industrial Environmental & Safety Law: Focus on IED 2.0 (Industrial Emissions Directive), Water Protection (§ 324 StGB, WHG, AwSV), and Operator Liability ("Regulatory Drift").

  • Compliance & Risk Management: Strategic assessment of liability risks in complex technical assets (Brownfield Assets).

  • Media & Data Law: Fundamental Rights, IP Law, GDPR, and EU AI Act (specifically in the context of industrial data) for the study programs Social Data Science (B-SDC), Technical Journalism (B-TJ), and Innovation Communication (M-IK).
