The Technische Hochschule Nürnberg Georg Simon Ohm endeavours to make our website in accessible in accordance with the Bavarian regulation on electronic administration and barrier-free information technology (“Bayerische Verordnung über die elektronische Verwaltung und die barrierefreie Informationstechnik” (BayEGovV)).

This accessibility statement applies to the websites under www.th-nuernberg.de.

Status of compatibility with the requirements

This website is compatible in part with the requirements of the “Barrierefreie-Informationstechnik-Verordnung (BITV 2.0) in conjunction with the WCAG 2.1 - conformity level AA. There are isolated barriers that are currently being removed step by step, or preparations for their removal are in progress.

Non-accessible content

The following contents and functions are currently only partially accessible or not yet accessible:

  • Some interactive elements cannot be fully operated using the keyboard.
  • The sequence of the keyboard navigation is sometimes not logical or consistent.
  • Focus and hover states differ visually in different ways.
  • Slider elements show deficiencies in contrast, focus, and ARIA scrolls.
  • The heading structure does not always follow a logical hierarchy.
  • In some instances, title attributes are redundant or superfluous.
  • Individual links lead to the same target page twice.
  • Language settings (lang attributes) are not set correctly in every instance.
  • The search form does not have a sufficiently descriptive name.
  • The navigation is partly not correctly nested.
  • Control elements in the footer are too small on mobile devices.
  • There are contrast problems with certain texts and operating elements.
  • Some pages throw technical errors in the console.
  • HTML structures do not always correspond to the semantic specifications.
  • Images are not consistently labelled with meaningful alternative text.
  • Tables occasionally contain empty or inadequately labelled column headings.
  • The pagination does not offer “first page”/”last page” buttons.
  • The layout structure of individual pages is not sufficiently consistent.

The university works continually to identify and rectify these deficiencies.

Reasons for inaccessible content

The Technische Hochschule Nürnberg works continuously to improve its website and is not yet able to make all content and services accessible due to the amount of content, the age of some documents, and the complexity of the website.

Current measures to improve accessibility:

  • Raising awareness of and providing training to decentralised web editors,
  • Taking accessible design into consideration for new web projects,
  • Technical development of the content management system to support accessible content.
