In order to apply successfully, the following admission requirements are important. The application is complete when all credentials and required documents are uploaded online to your application account within the application period.

  • 2 May until 15 July for the following winter semester (1 October) for first semester applicants and transfer applicants
  • 15 November until 15 January for the following summer semester (15 March) for transfer applicants

The following explanations will help you to prepare your application:

  1. Registration in the university’s  application portal.
  2. During the online application you will be asked to upload documents. Therefore, please have your CV and university entrance qualification (e.g. Abitur) ready as a digital version. Please only upload final certificates (no provisional certificates). Also make sure that the documents are complete (all pages are scanned) so that we can see your average grade and the date of your university entrance qualification. You can upload in the following formats: pdf, png, jpg, jpeg and gif (with a maximum size of 10 MB).
  3. Once your application has been successful, you can view your application and admission status in the applicant portal, where you will also find your letter of admission.
  4. If you are admitted, you can accept the place immediately. After acceptance in the applicantion portal, you will find the document for enrollment in the portal.
  5. To enroll, print out the application for binding enrolment and send it signed with other documents by email to the university within the deadline

Further information on the application process can be found here.

Applicants who have already been studying at another university have the opportunity to apply for admission to a higher semester under following conditions:

  • At least 25 ECTS from previous studies have to be accredited by the IBT Examination Board of our faculty for entering the second semester (start only in summer semester)
  • At least 45 ECTS from previous studies have to be accredited by the IBT Examination Board of our faculty for entering the third semester (start only in winter semester)
  • Please note: Credits earned in previous degree programmes can only be considered for transfer for the IBT modules in economics, business administration, or mathematics I-III, if the lectures and examinations were in English and the learning outcomes of the courses are comparable to those defined for IBT.

If you meet the above mentioned requirements you have to upload the following documents to your application account:

  • Complete and chronological curriculum vitae in English, with dates showing the beginning and end of your school education/studies (in tabular form)
  • School graduation certificate
  • Request form on which you have to list all the courses you want to receive accreditation for
  • Official transcript of records from your prior university showing modules, grades and ECTS  achieved in your previous studies as well as the total amount of credit points and the preliminary grade point average. This document has to be signed and stamped from an official of this university.
  • Course descriptions, excerpts from the module catalogue or of the study plan providing more details about the courses you want to receive accreditation for (copies stamped and signed by the university or, if the module catalogue is available online, please provide the link). Please upload separate documents for each description of the courses/ modules you want to receive accreditation.

You can upload in the following formats: pdf, png, jpg, jpeg and gif (with a maximum of 10 MB).

Additionally, you need to send the following documents (original or certified/notarized copies) in paper form by postal mail to Student Services of Technische Hochschule Nürnberg within the application period:

  • Cover letter which can be generated at the end of your online application
  • Official transcript of records from your prior university showing ECTS points and grades as well as the signature and stamp from an official of this university
  • If your module catalogue is not available online: course descriptions or excerpts from the module catalogue (signed and stamped by university)

For more information about the notarization of your documents please follow this link. Please note that non-notarized certificates will not be accepted!

If you are applying for the winter semester, in order to improve your chances for admission to this degree program we recommend that you also apply for admission to the first semester should your request for admission to a higher semester be denied. In this case, you have to submit two separate online applications!

Please upload your application documents and send in the necessary documents by postal mail not later than 15 July (for winter semester) or  15 January (for summer semester)

Please note: We can only admit students for second or higher semester, if the program is not running to capacity (for example if lots of students dropped out).

Please upload the following documents not later than July 15th to your application account:

  • Complete and chronological curriculum vitae in English, with dates showing the beginning and end of your school education/studies (in tabular form)
  • School graduation certificate
