Do I need a business plan as a business administration student?

We know that business people have to contend with a lot of preconceptions and that these preconceptions also transfer to the whole process of studying business. But we can ease your mind: At Nuremberg Tech things are different. We’re looking for personalities, not clichés. For the bachelor’s programme, there are formal requirements that you must fulfil in order to be able to start the degree programme. There are also a number of personal requirements that you should meet.

Formal requirements

  • General admission requirements (e.g. Abitur, vocational qualification or foreign educational certificate)

  • Numerus clausus (in German)

  • Compulsory participation in the subject-specific degree programme test (page in German - test result is not relevant for admission, but is solely intended as a means of self-assessment so that you can make the right decision about your course of study)

  • Only for applicants with vocational qualifications and no Abitur:
    Participation in a consultation appointment

  • Required language certificates:

    The language of instruction in this degree programme is German. Applicants with a different native language who do not hold a German bachelor’s degree and have not completed a German-language education at a higher education institution must provide one of the following certificates:

    • German Language Examination for University Admission for foreign applicants (DSH level 2)

    • Test of German as a Foreign Language with above-average results (TestDaF; level 4 or higher in all 4 parts of the examination)
    • Telc German C1 University

  • Curiosity and interest in economic issues

Common stumbling blocks

Mathematics and statistics:
Many economic issues, such as demand and sales trends, can be represented by mathematical functions. Therefore, solving systems of equations and inequations and working with mathematical functions are among the most important skills in business studies.
