Research and development in the Analytical chemistry laboratory

The Analytical chemistry laboratory is involved in various research and development projects with industrial and academic cooperation partners. Opportunities for cooperation are available in the context of joint projects, service contracts, and final theses.

The main areas of competence in Analytical Chemistry are as follows:

  • Identification and quantification of a highly diverse range of organic substance classes using chromatography and suitable detection methods (e.g. mass spectrometry)

  • Method development for sample preparation and enrichment

  • Residue analysis

  • Analysis of heavy metals and other inorganic impurities using ICP-OES

  • Various titration methods, such as for determining the contents of water (Karl Fischer), ion-selective electrodes, etc.
