Nuremberg Tech’s Student Panel

About one third of students attending universities of applied sciences drop out of their studies. What are the reasons for this and for which groups of students is the risk of dropping out particularly high? The Nuremberg Institute of Technology has been investigating these questions since WS 2014/15 by monitoring academic progress. In addition to an ongoing analysis of administrative data, which also allows for cohort observation, information on study motivation, study behaviour, study satisfaction, etc. will be collected through repeated surveys of a student cohort and subsequently linked to administrative data. Nuremberg Tech will develop suitable measures for preventing drop-outs and promoting academic success on this basis.
