ELSYS Institute

The Institute for Power Electronic Systems (ELSYS) carries out applied research and development in the field of power electronic systems, drive technology, microelectronics, and software. Its areas of focus are energy-efficiency, mechatronic applications, measurement, regulation, control, modelling, real-time simulation, rapid prototyping, and testing systems.

The POF-AC Institute

The Polymer Optical Fiber Application Center (POF-AC) is one of the world’s leading institutes in the application and characterization of polymer optical fibres. Major sources of funding of the institute, which is financed entirely from projects, include the European Union (under the projects POF-ALL and POF-Plus), the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the Bavarian State Ministry of Education, Science and the Arts (StMBKWK) (in various projects from the programme of state-subsidies) and industry-related foundations, such as the Bavarian Research Foundation (Bayerische Forschungsstiftung).
