Interdisciplinary training in engineering and applied research – that is what the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Information Technology, or efi for short, stands for.

With 46 laboratories, a team of 56 professors, over 30 laboratory staff, more than 100 adjunct teaching staff, and over 60 tutorships, the Faculty offers the ideal environment in which to study.

The degree programmes on offer encompass engineering bachelor's and master's degree programmes in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Mechatronics, Precision Engineering, Media Engineering, Medical Engineering, and Mechatronic Systems. The master’s degree programme in Applied Research in Engineering Sciences also enables students to acquire a higher qualification in applied research.

All degree programmes are practically oriented and are accredited in accordance with established guidelines.

In research and teaching, the Faculty collaborates with many educational and research institutions, with the industrial sector and – last but not least – in the context of the research associations NCT and EnCn, with major partners from within the region.

Students also benefit from the multifaceted research activities of our professors, which make the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Information Technology (efi) the most active Faculty in research within the university as a whole. Students have the opportunity to investigate interesting topics from our wide range of research activities when completing projects and final theses, for example. Participation in competitions, such as the RoboCup or Formula Student enable students to work in teams and prepare them for the challenges they will encounter in the professional world.
