For the majority of students enrolled on technical degree programmes (Applied Chemistry, Telecommunications and Precision Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, and Materials Engineering), the practical Physics course offered by the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Physics and Humanities is generally the first practical laboratory work that they complete at the university. Accordingly, it serves both as an introduction to experimental work and as didactic support for the accompanying Physics lectures during the first year of study.
