Radio is alive and well. The average listener devotes 247 minutes per day to the diverse range of radio shows. In order to prepare themselves to work with this ever-relevant traditional medium, students following the Journalism of Technology degree programme produce content on the subject of technology as part of their radio training, which you can listen to.

Radio shows are streamed live and can also be listened to and viewed at a later date on the degree programme’s YouTube channel: Studio Ohm TH Nürnberg. You can also listen to these and other shows and content on the degree programme’s Soundcloud channel: www.soundcloud.com/technikjournalismus

Journalism of technology in radio broadcasting – radio as a pioneer of technological innovation

Radio broadcasters were the first media representatives to recognize the cross-media potential of the internet and social media and are using it more and more extensively. Technology and science reporting is also benefiting from this. Podcasts, for example, can cut interesting topics in the areas of technology and research loose from the niches of special interest programmes and unfavourable broadcasting times. Innovative forms of listener participation are set to revolutionize the radio landscape.

Journalism of Technology students are creating a growing collection of information about interesting radio formats and cross-media projects, as well as about fruitful combinations of radio and social media.
