Dual-zone climate chamber

A dual-zone climate chamber is available for carrying out experiments.

By means of a separating wall, the climate chamber is subdivided into two zones of equal size – the interior climate zone (representing the climate inside the building) and the exterior climate zone (representing the climate outside the building). Different air conditions (such as winter or summer) can be achieved in each zone. Both chambers can be accessed from the outside through two separate doors. The separating wall can be removed entirely and it is quite simple to incorporate components such as windows, façade elements, doors, etc. It is also possible to fit different air outlets and inlets, a perforated ceiling or a double floor.

The climate chamber possesses the following characteristics:

  • A dual-zone system with an interior and exterior zone
  • Volume of chamber: 64 m³
  • Interior zone: V = 32.1 m³, A = 9.7 m²
  • Exterior zone: V = 32.1 m³, A = 9.7 m²
  • External insulation: 160 mm of PU foam
  • Zone separation wall: 320 mm of PU foam

The incoming air to the interior and exterior zone is conditioned by two separate, full-service air conditioners providing all thermodynamic air treatment functions.
