During the course of the three-semester programme, we will provide you with a practical, natural, or engineering science-based advanced education with a range of options to choose from.

The aim is to broaden your knowledge of materials and to learn how to work in a scientific manner. Alongside specialist knowledge from across the entire technical materials field, you will also learn in-depth content from complementary fields, e.g. production technology and planning or business administration with cost accounting. As a result, our active and comprehensive degree programme will thoroughly prepare you for the challenges that you will face during your career and will guarantee a high degree of professional flexibility.

The New Materials, Nano- and Production Technology master’s degree programme has been jointly developed and is delivered by professors from the Faculty of Applied Chemistry (AC), the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Information Technology (efi), the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Building Services Engineering (MB/VS), and the Faculty of Materials Engineering (WT) at Nuremberg Tech. Following a foundation semester, the students select one of the three specializations (non-metallic inorganic materials, polymer materials, metallic materials).

Information on admission

To take the master’s degree programme in New Materials, Nano- and Production Technology at Nuremberg Tech, you must fulfil certain requirements. These are laid down in the Study and Examination Regulations (in German)

Required language certificates:

The language of instruction in this degree programme is German. Applicants with a different native language who do not hold a German bachelor’s degree and have not completed a German-language education at a higher education institution must provide one of the following certificates:

  • German Language Examination for University Admission for foreign applicants (DSH level 2)

  • Test of German as a Foreign Language with above-average results (TestDaF; level 4 or higher in all 4 parts of the examination)

  • Telc German C1 University
