Information for students at cooperating universities

We currently have partnerships established with the Lutheran University of Applied Sciences Nuremberg and the Nuremberg University of Music.

The Institute of Languages and Intercultural Competence at the Ohm offers students from cooperating universities in the region the opportunity to take courses, sit exams, and gain recognition for their achievements at their home university. Participation in courses is free for these students as their universities pay the course fees. However, the DSH courses are excluded from this arrangement.

The Ohm is keen to develop partnerships with other universities in the region, and hopes to gain further partners in the future.

Recognition of coursework (transfer credits)

It is possible to gain recognition of your coursework at the Language Center in the form of a “Recognition of external achievements” (transfer credits). Please contact your Student Office for details.

Recognition of study achievements gained at the Ohm’s Language Center is governed by the respective cooperation agreement. Other conditions may apply for students from cooperating universities than are specified in the information given in the online course descriptions:

Registration

When registering, students at cooperating universities should use the same login as private auditing students. However, when creating a user account, please select your university from the list.

For students at the Lutheran University of Applied Sciences (EVHN):

You will receive credit from the Student Office at the Lutheran University of Applied Sciences for all study achievements gained at the Language Center, irrespective of the number of lecture hours and course level. Grades will be compiled and sent to the EVHN. Confirmations of participation can be issued upon request.
 

For students at the Nuremberg University of Music:

The Ohm has had a cooperation agreement with the Nuremberg University of Music since the summer semester 2009. You will receive credit from the Student Office at the Nuremberg University of Music for all study achievements gained at the Language Center, irrespective of the number of lecture hours and course level. Confirmations of participation will be issued at the end of the semester via the Student Office at the Nuremberg University of Music.
Important: The summer semester at the Ohm begins earlier than at the Nuremberg University of Music. Language Center courses, therefore, start several weeks before the start of the semester at Nuremberg University of Music.
