Globally interconnected production and trade patterns have enduring consequences for people and the environment. Therefore, companies are under increasing pressure to act responsibly not just in their direct activities, but along their entire supply chain. In specific terms, this means fulfilling due diligence requirements, disclosing entire supply and value chains, providing traceability, and introducing targeted strategic and operational measures to implement social and environmental sustainability principles.

The term “sustainable supply chain” explores targeted solutions to support companies and affected stakeholders in developing sustainable processes. In particular, in collaboration with our industrial partners, we developed a practical and effective risk analysis procedure to investigate and evaluate social and environmental risks in a given supply chain. The NCT-NIT supports companies in implementing due diligence requirements in accordance to the Act on Corporate Due Diligence Obligations in Supply Chains (LKSG) and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), as well as their digital application. Furthermore, the NCT-NIT develops applications and methods for the visualisation and transparency of supply chains.
