Television and radio interview with Prof. Sabine Fromm

Leading up to the StMFH’s Bavarian Demography Conference in Nuremberg on 8 May 2025, Prof. Sabine Fromm was interviewed by the BR24 television team. The interview was broadcast on television on 8 May at 5.30 pm and was also broadcast on BR24 radio. An article was also published online at BR24.de. In addition, a radio interview with BR2 took place on the day of the event that was planned for broadcast that day at 6.15 pm on the programme, “IQ - Wissenschaft schnell erzählt” on BR2.

New project to strengthen secondary school students’ professional orientation

Prof. Sabine Fromm and Prof. Raphael Verstege have initiated a new project, supported by funds from the Freie Wähler parliamentary group, within the framework of their work for the Ohm’s Smart People | Smart Production Technology Transfer Center. The project is being carried out in close cooperation with schools and the Nürnberger Land local education authority and includes an investigation of the efficacy of career guidance measures.

KoSIMA is part of the new technology transfer center in Lauf

In 2025 a new technology transfer center (“Technologietransferzentrum” = TTZ) will be established in the Nürnberger Land that will focus on the topic “Smart People | Smart Production”. The LEONARDO center is collaborating with the Berufsbildungswerk Bezirk Mittelfranken - Hören Sprache Lernen (BBW) in the project titled, “Digitale Medien für Menschen mit multiplen Förderbedarfen”. Prof. Sabine Fromm is providing academic supervising and advising to the project.

Ohm Happiness Report has been published 

The economics group of the BW Faculty produced the Ohm Happiness Report for the occasion of the conferral of ermeritus status on their colleague Karlheinz Ruckriegel. The article reports on student life and satisfaction of students at the Ohm. It shows, for example, that returning to lecture halls after the pandemic was associated with greater life satisfaction at the Ohm or that the expected starting salary has a positive correlation with students’ sense of happiness. You live in Nuremberg? A survey began on 17 April about the living arrangements of people with low incomes.

On behalf of the City of Nuremberg, the Technische Hochschule Nürnberg Georg Simon Ohm is conducting a study to gain a better understanding of the living arrangements in low-income households. The study is led by Prof. Sabine Fromm and Prof. Frank Ebinger.

Survey teams comprising project staff and students visited various places in Nuremberg to gather diverse opinions.

How is it to live in Nuremberg in low-income households?

Oh behalf of the City of Nuremberg’s “Amt für Existenzsicherung und soziale Integration” (office for welfare security and social integration), Prof. Sabine Fromm and Prof. Frank Ebinger are investigating the housing situation of households that receive minimum income support or have a very low earned income. The aim of the project is to gain a comprehensive picture of the energy efficiency and general renovation status of the flats and their distribution within the urban area.
