Representative Council for Professors and Employees with Disabilities

The special duty of care and support under the Social Security Code (Sozialgesetzbuch, SGB IX) and the Bavarian Equal Opportunities for Disabled Persons Act (Bayerisches Behindertengleichstellungsgesetz, BayBGG) obliges the university, as a public employer, to promote the employment of disabled persons and above all to meet the employment quota for disabled persons. In the context of this obligation, the Representative Council for Employees with Disabilities performs the following tasks:

  • integration of disabled people, in particular by involving the Representative Council for Employees with Disabilities in appointment procedures and job advertisements
  • representing the interests of disabled people at the university, in particular by checking whether laws and collective agreements are observed
  • preventive and supporting measures
  • providing contact persons for suggestions and complaints from disabled persons
  • assistance with applications to the competent authorities for a declaration of disability, the degree of disability, and severe disability, and with requests for equal treatment
