To be admitted to the Business Law (LL.M.) master’s degree programme at Nuremberg Tech, you must meet the qualification requirements summarized below.

Admission with degree (direct admission)

• Successful completion of a business or equivalent university degree with 210 credit points or an equivalent degree as well as knowledge of German law amounting to at least 30 ECTS credits

  or

• successful completion of a Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) university degree in business law or an equivalent degree with 210 credits

  or

• successful completion of the First State Examination in Law

A specific final grade is not required.

Admission without a degree (provisional admission)

If you are studying in one of the above-mentioned bachelor’s degree programmes but have not yet completed your studies, you can still be admitted directly to the programme on a provisional basis if your application documents show that you are aiming for one of the above-mentioned degrees or an equivalent degree.

Required language certificates

The language of instruction in this degree programme is German. Applicants with a different native language who do not hold a German bachelor’s degree and have not completed a German-language education at a higher education institution must provide one of the following certificates:

• German Language Examination for University Admission for foreign applicants (DSH level 1)
• Test of German as a Foreign Language with above-average results (TestDaF; level 3 or higher in all 4 parts of the examination)

30 ECTS knowledge of German Law

What counts towards the 30 ECTS knowledge of German law?

As a general rule,

all modules designated as law modules, but also modules that have a legal connection in terms of content, such as accounting (HGB). In case of doubt, however, the latter should be proven separately – for example by means of the corresponding excerpt from the module description.

In the case of foreign university degrees,

law modules can only be credited if they have international legal connections, especially to EU law. Since the master’s degree programme (successively) builds on the knowledge of the bachelor’s degree programme, basic knowledge of German law is indispensable. However, the decision is up to the selection committee in each individual case, so sufficient evidence regarding the content of the application should also be enclosed.

You must attach the following documents to your application (extract):

If you have completed your studies:

Final official transcript and degree certificate as well as any interim certificates for the degree to be evidenced as qualification, in accordance with Section 4 of the Study and Examination Regulations (officially certified copies)

If you have not yet completed your studies:

Evidence clearly showing the following:

• the total number of ECTS credits to be earned (180, 210, or 240 ECTS credits)
• law modules successfully completed to date and the ECTS credits earned in each case
• law modules still to be taken, stating the ECTS credit points to be earned in each case, unless the degree programme in question is one in which more than 30 ECTS credits are normally earned
• if applicable, documentation of reference to law in modules that are not designated as law modules

When presenting the overview of grades, please make sure that all information is available and, if necessary, ask your Student Office to complete any missing information!
