Prof. Kobus Jonker from our partner university in South Africa is guest at the faculty

From the 1st of December till 13th of December Prof. Kobus Jonker from the Nelson Mandela University in Port Elizabeth is holding different guest lectures in our BW, IB and Master Programs. Prof. Jonker is a specialist in Strategic Management and in African Development. He shares with our TH Nürnberg students his latest research on China's investment strategy in Africa, Financial Markets in South Africa and cases on Woolworth and Nando's in South Africa.

Prof Kobus Jonker is a professor in business strategy, founder of the MBA programme at NMMU Business School and former chairman of the Business School Partners Network (BSPN).

He is a strategic planning consultant to Standard Bank, Tenneco, Schnellecke, Eberspächer and the Eastern Cape Justice Department. He has presented over 80 workshops to organisations over a period of 13 years.

He holds 26 years’ experience in lecturing MBA students at middle and senior management levels and is a visiting professor to TH-Nurnberg in Germany.

Prof Jonker’s research and publications include: An Holistic Approach to Strategic Decision-making (World Congress on Holistic Management, Australia);  he is the editor of an international text book called Strategic Management: Total Quality and Global Competition and he has contributed to publications such as the SA Business Review of Market Research and Southern Forest: A Journal of Forest Science.

He has delivered research papers at the Academy of World Business Conference (France, 2006), the International Business Conference (Zambia, 2010) and the International Trend Forum (Germany, 2011).

He is a member of the South African Institute of Management Scientists and organised and chaired the first, second and third International Business Conferences.
