Are you studying at Nuremberg Institute of Technology and would you like to be involved in some voluntary activity as part of your degree programme? Would you like to put your specialist knowledge to good use and support sports clubs, museums, and social organizations?

Nuremberg Tech has put in place an innovative programme known as Service Learning that gives you the opportunity to do just that. Our Service Learning office will help you do this and would be happy to present you with specific projects and seminars.

Service learning at Nuremberg Tech is characterized by the following:

Students make a commitment with non-profit or public partners in the region (sports, culture, social, municipalities) and apply their own skills for the organization’s work.

This commitment is integrated into a course, a student project, or a final thesis.

The partner presents a specific and clearly defined problem.

The student’s work is supervised continually by the university and representatives of the cooperation partner and concludes with a reflection.

Project duration: usually within one semester

The work can be recognized, for example, with credits (ECTS), certificates, or by being listed in the final official transcript.

A service learning project can not replace regular primary labour force.
