31 January 2020

In the age of digitalization, knowledge is of great importance for the safe handling of digital media in the working world. This includes the use of digital tools or the correct evaluation of information and data. The certificate programme for Digital Competence (DigKom) of Nuremberg Tech's Center for Teaching and Learning recognizes the relevance of this topic and supports students in various fields of digital literacy. This is an important programme for shaping digital change in teaching and during studies. The certificate is aimed at all students at Nuremberg Tech. They gain important knowledge about Big Data, Industry 4.0, and digitalization in internal workshops as well as workshops at cooperating partner organizations and other course formats. The participation is free of charge. In the final presentation of the certificate Nicole Hackl (Faculty of Computer Science), Franziska-Sophie Müller (Faculty of Business Administration), Mira Kollmann (Faculty of Social Work), Mathias Stark (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Building Services Engineering), Alina Ruf (Faculty of Business Administration), Mahmut-Tamer Pineci (Faculty of Business Administration), and Duc Nguyen Khac (Faculty of Business Administration) reported on successes, what they learned, and the future of digitalization. At the ceremony, the future president of the Technische Hochschule Nürnberg, Prof. Niels Oberbeck, awarded the seven students the University Certificate for Digital Competence.
