HUeBro: Raising the level of houses in flood-prone areas, taking as an example the village of Brockwitz on the banks of the Elbe

“HUeBro” is a joint project funded by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Construction and Nuclear Safety (BMUB)*. The project adopts an interdisciplinary approach to investigate the possibility of raising the level of houses as an innovative and alternative flood protection measure. This research has come about as a result of the extreme flooding, with its far-reaching consequences, that is occurring more and more frequently as a result of climate change.
