It’s finally here! The new semester, winter semester 24/25, is starting and we’re pleased to welcome all new (and returning) students - including YOU!

This will present you with new challenges, new structures and procedures, but also a wide range of opportunities, but don’t worry: to make getting started easier and help with orientation, this web page contains a selection of the most important information and interesting projects, resources, and key facts.

Watch the Ohm’s social media channels, too, to keep up to date!

The most important questions and information about the start of the semester

What are the important dates to know about? Deadlines, timescales, notices, no lectures?

It’s easy to find out! All important dates and deadlines in the current semester for the whole university are available on our website.

And, what about events?

Besides the individual events organised by the Faculties or other units, which you can find on their respective websites, there is the Ohm’s general events calendar (in German).
This calendar includes interesting lectures, workshops, special activities, and more!

Where do I need to go? How do I find my way around?

An overview of all Ohm campus locations is on our website, including maps and directions. Each campus has a specific identifier (for example, K for all of Keßlerplatz). Each building on a campus have an identifier beginning with the same letter (for example, KA, KL, etc.).

And what’s special about the room identifiers or numbers?

The room identifier shows you the campus and building (see above).
The first numeral of the room number also indicates the floor the room is on. An example: Room KA.401 is located in building KA (Location K), on the 4th floor.

When and where is my orientation / information session for the start of the semester?

An overview of all introductory and welcome events (sorted by Faculty) is available on our website.

When is which building open?

So you don’t find yourself standing before a locked door, check our opening hours website for each location and various units - during the different periods of the semester.

Special opening hours for specific units, rooms, services, etc. are also available online on the relevant web pages.
