The following are general recommendations:

  • Masks are recommended, if the minimum physical distance of 1.5 metres cannot be maintained.
  • Do not come to work if you are ill.
  • Maintain physical distance and follow the general hygiene measures.
  • Ventilate rooms regularly.

Mobile work

All staff have the opportunity to work from home. The restriction of mobile work to 29 days has been suspended until 30 September 2022.

Due to the return to on-campus instruction, it may be again necessary for staff or faculty to return to campus. Details relating to physical attendance requirements are regulated within each individual organisational unit. Supervisors are responsible for a reasonable balance between the needs of staff and faculty and ensuring well-ordered workflows and processes. 

Mobile work - Details (incl. entering hours)

In variation from the regulation in the establishment agreement (“Dienstvereinbarung”), the following procedures have been agreed with the staff council (“Personalrat”) for the approval and accounting of mobile hours and are in effect:

  • A request for “Mobile Arbeit” is no longer necessary. Instead an informal request for “Mobile Work” should be submitted to the supervisor via email. After the mobile hours have been completed, staff should account for the time worked in Atoss using the “Stempelsatzgenehmigung” function. To a limited extent, this permits more than or less than the planned regular working hours.
  • Larger deviations from the regular working hours or deviations over a longer period of time are only possible with direct agreement from your supervisor.

At your work station (mask requirement, physical distancing, etc.)

As of 24 May, the mask requirement for all university members is no longer in effect.

 

There is a general recommendation to wear an FFP2 mask in Nuremberg Tech buildings where a minimum physical distance, i.e. > 1.5 m, can not be maintained. 

Provisions for specific groups of people:

Risk groups

  • Individuals at higher risk from Covid-19 are advised to make use of the option for mobile work, if your areas of responsibility permit. Arrangements are to be agreed with your supervisor.
  • Nuremberg Tech offers employees who are at higher risk from Covid-19 occupational health care consults (“Corona-Wunschvorsorge”) at the Klinikum Nuremberg (Klinikum Nürnberg Nord). Our occupational health physician will provide an individual and personal consultation. More information about occupational health is available in the QM portal.
  • Your supervisor is responsible for administering the implementation of the protective measures recommended by the occupational health physician.

Maternity protection for pregnant and nursing people

Staff and faculty members who are pregnant may be allowed on campus premises under the following conditions: 

  • the general risk assessment determines no hazards (in compliance with any necessary protective measures) 
  • the personal risk assessment determines no hazards - this is generally the case with office work spaces

Travel for professional development, using university vehicles

  • Travel for professional development (domestic and international) is currently possible.
  • Individuals who use university vehicles are responsible for cleaning them after use (steering wheel, gear lever, center console); cleaning supplies will be provided by the TFM department.

Psychological stress / psychological counseling

  • Nuremberg Tech offers psychological counseling with Dr Özbe-Schönfeld. More information is available on our website.
  • Please note that counseling sessions are only possible as telephone or video appointments due to the current situation.
