In addition to the information on educational operations, that are defined in the Teaching framework, the regulations from the BMAS apply to staff and faculty of the Technische Hochschule Nürnberg. The infection prevention ordinance ( “Infektionsschutzgesetz” ) was amended on 24 November 2021 and is in accord with the  Corona occupational health and safety ordinance of the BMAS . Therefore the current regulations at Nuremberg Tech that have been established to protect the health and safety of staff and faculty remain in effect.

Since 24 November, the 2G rule applies for all classes or teaching activities, and 3G plus applies for all other operations at the university

Please use the opportunity to work from home where possible as agreed with your supervisor and in consideration of operational needs.

The following shall apply in principle:

  • 3G plus rule applies for staff and faculty (or 2G for classes)
  • Do not come to work if you are ill
  • Maintain physical distance and follow the general hygiene measures
  • Wear an FFP2 face mask when not at your personal work station
  • Ventilate rooms regularly

Mobile Work

All staff have the opportunity to work from home. The restriction of mobile work to 29 days is also suspended in winter semester 21/22.

Due to the return to on-campus instruction, it may be again necessary for staff or faculty to return to campus. Details relating to physical attendance requirements are regulated within each individual organisational unit. Supervisors are responsible for a reasonable balance between the needs of staff and faculty and ensuring well-ordered workflows and processes.

Mobile work - Details (incl. entering hours)

In variation from the regulation in the establishment agreement (“Dienstvereinbarung”), the following procedures have been agreed with the staff council (“Personalrat”) for the approval and accounting of mobile hours and are in effect:

  • A request for “Mobile Arbeit” is no longer necessary. Instead an informal request for “Mobile Work” should be submitted to the supervisor via email. After the mobile hours have been completed, staff should account for the time worked in Atoss using the “Stempelsatzgenehmigung” function. To a limited extent, this permits more than or less than the planned regular working hours.
  • Larger deviations from the regular working hours or deviations over a longer period of time are only possible with direct agreement from your supervisor.

Detailed information about mobile work and leaves of absence were distributed by the University Management on 4 November 2020 (in German).

At your work station (mask requirement, etc.)

Since 24 November, educational operations at universities are subject to the 2G rule and the guidelines on mask requirements remains in effect. For staff who are not engaged in educational operations: Masks (FFP2) are not required at work stations, if the minimum physical distance can be maintained. In hallways, etc., however, masks are required.
